Requirements
Must have Squarespace 7.1 business plan or higher
The only elements allowed in the menu are text and links.
The plugin works it's magic by using folder URLs that end with the string '-mega', so your current folder URLs will be altered when you follow the instructional guide. Note that folder URLs do not actually create new landing pages for your Squarespace site, so changing them will not hurt your SEO.
Limitations
This Mega Menu plugin was not meant to handle large amounts of menu content(more than 3 columns of content). If you need a mega menu that can handle multiple columns and rows of content plus images, you will need to purchase the Mega Menu plugin.

You can customize the menu background color, the link and menu group heading colors and font sizes, whether each menu will contain 2 or 3 columns, and whether the menus will open on mouse hover or click.

No. Folder URLs by default do not create new pages on your website. Instead, they automatically redirect to the first page in the folder menu (Source: Squarespace Support). Because of this, it is unlikely that changing the folder URLs will mess anything up with SEO.
I have personally tested whether folder URLs count towards SEO by Google on multiple sites in addition to my own, and none of them were even indexed, so changing folder URLs to accommodate this plugin is generally safe.

Mega menus are optimal for sites with a lot of menu content that is often too much for a regular dropdown menu.
They are most notably used in eCommerce sites with lots of categories and subcategories, and sites with large amounts of page content that need to be easily navigatable.

This plugin is not compatible with other mega menu plugins. If you are switching over from another mega menu plugin, you will need remove all files related to that plugin and replace them with the files you will get with the purchase of this plugin.
